19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts

A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his initial championship for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has had a challenging year, managing just one win at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Now working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's initial trophy following the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt since spring of 2023.

The win also signifies he has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one various events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, including in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving strategy and frequent reactions on court had caused some to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was over.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and play aggressively, supported by an improved service.

The champion came back from a break down in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, securing four of the final five points to take the lead.

The competitors traded service breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour championship, took control to force a final set.

Moutet defended 4 early-game chances in a tight third set before the Russian won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Fittingly, he clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
